Freelance Japanese to English Translator

Translating nuance, feelings, and more

A little about me

My name is Jacqueline Fung, a Canadian freelance Japanese to English translator for Japanese pop culture media, with a central focus on manga. I’ve been translating professionally since 2017, and have translated over hundreds of titles, some of which are showcased on this site.

Before breaking out into the professional world, I did a lot of interpreting from Chinese (Cantonese) to English, and have taken over ten years of Mandarin in school. My love for languages led me to my dream job, turning a hobby into a profession.

Outside of translating, I spend most of my time with my pets, or curled up with a good cup of tea and a game controller, playing a variety of games that span from Otome romance simulations to hack-and-slash and beat-’em-ups.

If you have any work enquiries, please feel free to contact me using the form on this site or hit me up on twitter!
